Swedfund is a development financier and development cooperation actor. It contributes venture capital, start-up aid and expertise for investments in low and middle income countries. Swedfund is wholly owned by the Swedish state.

CREDIT GUARANTEES
EKN, The Swedish Export Credit Agency, is an authority with the task of promoting Swedish exports, and is a complement to the private export credit insurance market. SEK insures export companies and banks against the risk of non-payment in export transactions, thereby enabling them to conduct more secure export transactions.

LOANS
SEK is owned by the Swedish government and acts as a complement to banks and capital markets to finances large and medium-sized companies with sales of more than Skr 200 million. SEK also finances suppliers to export companies and foreign buyers of Swedish products and services.

Almi, owned by the Swedish state, offers loans to companies with growth potential and assists in their business development. This applies to businesses in the start-up phase as well as established companies. Almi Invest provides venture capital for early-stage, emerging companies with high growth potential and a scalable business concept.

The Nordic Environment Finance Corporation (NEFCO) is an international financial institution (IFI) established in 1990 through an intergovernmental treaty between the Nordic countries. NEFCO finances exclusively environmental and climate-related projects. We focus on small and medium-sized projects with demonstration value and scale-up possibilities to make them bankable.
